TAKING THE LEAP by Fran Hafey It's a hot summer day and the water of the pool looks so
wonderful. The blue ripples moving to and fro by the wind. I have
lived enough years to know that even when it's hot, getting into
a pool the water still feels cold, like a quick shock to the
body. I walk over and hold onto the rail and dip my foot in...
YIKES, that's cold, but its sooo hot out here.
I take the chance. I slowly step into the water and with each
step, it goes higher and higher up my body, touching my skin. I
stand waist high, wondering, "why don't I just go for it, take
that leap, dive right in, just do it!! Ok that's it, enough. I
take a breath and dive right under the water swimming a ways. I
come up and take another breath and I relax floating in the
wonderful, refreshing water... it feels great! Ahhhhh.
So why did I wait so long? Why did I hesitate if I knew that the
water felt so good? All I had to do was remember. Remember like I
had done before and just take the leap, that leap of faith that
the water was nice and felt so
Serene and would cool me off from the hot sun. I knew this, but
yet, I hesitated.
In life, we do this often. We know when we come to certain
bridges in our lives, that all we have to do is just put one foot
in front of the other and take that first step. The path may not
always be so smooth and refreshing, but we must have faith, and
like taking that leap, just do it!
Some of you may be saying "but yes, I know I should do that, but,
what if I jump or take that leap and it was the wrong choice?"
What are your options?
When you search for answers and direction, often we get it, but
our old habits, or our uncertainty holds us back. I am not saying
to go with every thought you have, but to pay attention to them
and give them to Spirit/God and by releasing them, you are
setting them free to work in your life. Thoughts from OUR minds
are different from those given to us from Spirit and our guides.
You will never know until you at least try out the water. How can
you be so sure that standing on the sidelines is the best thing
for you? We can't let fear and doubt control us.
I have many times been faced with options and decisions and I
could think something to death. I am an Aquarian on top of it
all, so I think a lot already. Do not let your thoughts and your
mind get in the way of your heart. Some may take it a bit lower
and say, "pay attention to your gut feelings, they are always
right."
For me, I have many options and choices being put before me in my
life. The majority are big things that will affect my life and
others. I know how I feel, that I want to do more, to reach out,
jump right in and get busier and start traveling, doing more
public speaking, book signings and much more.
My old self and old habits say, "but I'm afraid, this is new to
me, will I fail?" When I go within and listen to my higher self
and really meditate on the answers, I know them already. I know
what I want to do and what my life mission is. This knowing and
experiencing, entails that I do many things I have not done
before. I will have many adventures and some trials too. I am
ready and so I just have to take that leap.
I have done this already, but the water is getting deeper. I am
being challenged and asked to do even more. Again I have choices.
I can take that leap forward into some unknown territories,
having complete faith that I am taken care of and that all the
things I need will come to me in perfect timing. Not my timing
but my Creators.
I learn many lessons along the way and just think, once upon a
time I was just learning to float and doggie paddle!!! Look at me
now, I am swimming right out in the Ocean and I have total faith.
All things happen for a reason and my faith is stronger than the
waves.
I am surely blessed and know that not all days will be as easy or
difficult as others, but I just keep floating and enjoying the
beautiful blue waters.
Won't you take that leap of faith into the water today?
