STAY STAY STAY by Julie Jordan Scott Today I was noticing how tired I was feeling. Just blah and bland
and ick.
So I started to move.
I did a round of EFT (emotional freedom technique- see links at the
end of this article). I felt better. To solidify the positive
feeling I kept moving.
I headed to the laundry room because I needed to move a load of
laundry from the washer into the drier.
I saw the stairs leading to the laundry room as another possibility
for movement. I stayed with the desire to be energized. Up, down.
Up, down. Up, down.
I ran until it was a stretch to continue and ran into the laundry
room. Moving the laundry, I greeted the stairs again.
Up, down. Up, down. Up, down. Once again, I ran until I was tired
and not yet out of breath.
I didn't feel like sitting in my chair to do my writing practice.
Initially it felt tiresome though I knew it would feel freeing once
I committed to it and moved through the not-wanting-to and into the
result I knew was right around the but-I-feel-like-I-don't-want-to
bend in the road.
I wrote the word "Stay" over and over and over until I felt its
rhythm and realized how poetic the word itself was, coming from my
pencil. "Stay" sounded like a pair of maracas, it sounded like
fingers scratching a loved ones back, "Up-over, yeah right there
right there up and down and over.. Up and down and over"..
Get your blood pumping as you stay and move simultaneously.
Stay committed and move. It doesn't have to be any huge physical
movement, it can be the simple tap of EFT or the larger tap of the
feet upon the steps up and down up and down up and down or the
beautiful scratchy leathery sounds of a pencil on a page.
Walt Disney said, "Get a good idea and stay with it. Dog it, and
work at it until it's done right." Stay with it, move in it, allow
it to grow from your passionate nurturing.
Stay. Stay. Stay.
