SPIRITUALITY IS A LABOR OF LOVE by Fran Hafey "Are you bored with life?
Then throw yourself into some work you believe in with all your
heart,
live for it, die for it, and you will find happiness that you had
thought could never be yours."
~Dale Carnegie
Spirituality is a Labor of Love
By Fran Hafey
Labor Day has always marked the beginning of school and the end
of summer, a time to respect the hard work many have done and do
to build our country and have more working rights.
For me I also see it as a time when the seasons begin to change
and to ponder on labor and what it really means.
I for one, have done labor in my lifetime. It's not the same to
all people, and some have never worked really hard and know what
its like to sweat and do what my Dad called "hard work." We all
see things differently.
I also labor in my Spirituality. I have worked hard to get where
I am from where I was and I still continue to do the things in my
life that are important to growing and evolving in my spiritual
walk.
Again, people all see things differently. Some folks have been
through the fire and have felt hard times spiritually when they
have had to deal with painful situations, the past, healing,
growing and learning to love themselves. Some want to have the
goal before they have labored for the love. They sometimes think
that reaching enlightenment or obtaining peace is something that
comes easily without working hard for it.
I know different. I know that I started my awakening and I have
worked, stumbled, fallen, crawled, sweat, cried and hurt because
I wanted something so badly, I could feel it within my whole
being. I knew there was something more for me and I was not going
to give up until I found what it was.
I started within, asking myself questions and finding the
answers, which were all inside of my own heart. I had to work,
read, search and ponder many hours of learning and change.
No one else can labor this walk for you. You must do it yourself
and I can share with you, it's worth it. Every bead of sweat,
every tear, every smile, trial, dream and heartache, prepare us
for so much more.
Don't quit laboring before the miracle has manifested in your
life.
Keep your dreams and goals in site, know that you deserve all
good things and keep climbing that mountain until you have
reached the top. Then you can rest and know that you have
accomplished something wonderful, beyond words and a feeling that
you can share with the world.
By laboring on your Spiritual walk, you will be rewarded many
times over, with a wonderful gift of love, peace and wisdom.
