LEADING A HORSE TO

by Fran Hafey/Mysti
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

I was using this lesson just recently to explain how it is the same with people.

We can be a light and example, but when it comes to change, we can only do so much.

At this time there are many changes occurring all around us. Mother Earth is shifting, changing and each day we see it through weather occurrences, people and animals. Some people will understand it, some will not.

For quite some time, it has been a known fact that humans are not taking as good care of the Earth as they could. I continue to see littering, pollution, degrading of the land, by building too many structures, destruction of waters, forests, living creatures and more.

I see politician trying to drill for oil in our protected lands in the North and they allow massive slaying of millions of trees and beautiful untouched land. More and more people build houses instead of repairing the ones that are already here. Water is being tapped into and becoming scarce as more wells are being drilled for family homes and multi level housing.

Wild animals are being killed for sport and our wild lands raped and destroyed. Humans continue to populate and take so much for granted.

Yes, I can lead a horse/human to water, but I cannot make them drink. I cannot make them understand how truly important it is to wake up at this time, to see the negatives and turn them to positives. Just like children, many need to learn to share. Relearning, realizing and making changes for the better are needed.

Water is just one, and I believe one of the most important, elements that are being destroyed and poisoned at an alarming rate. The more toxins that are in the air, the soil and the more trash there is, the worse the water is becoming. All things go hand in hand.

With all this happening everywhere, why would someone even wonder why there is so much negativity all around us?

We can change that.

What are you doing to help in a positive way? Do you litter? Do you smoke? Do you assume others are handling things? Do you live in the city or the country? It doesn't matter. We all live on this Earth together and many need to learn some manners.

I breathe this air, I live here too and I have just as much right to peace and quiet as the next person. Technology is fine, but we must remember. We must remember the old ways and the new age together, and find a way to personally make a positive impact.

Do you recycle, or again, just assume others will do it? Do you eat natural things grown from the earth, or foods from a box that is killing you and then complain? Do you blame others for the problems, but do nothing about them? Do you endorse companies that hurt animals for testing by using their products? Do you stay informed, watch the news, read the papers, do you feel the Earth as she is crying out for our help?

Of course we can't always do everything just right, but we can do something. Yes, we do all have free will and rights and each and every one of us has the potential to make a difference, to teach a child how it used to be and how it should be. Why not remember today or relearn in a new way, in a way that will help us all?

I send you good energy for many blessings always. Copyright: Mystickblue (c) August, 2003 All rights reserved.
