CAN SITTING AT YOUR COMPUTER HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT?

We are just beginning to understand the truth of that statement. But it's difficult at best to control the messages we send ourselves all the time.

How does it work? When the program is running, positive messages that you choose are displayed very quickly--too quickly for your conscious mind to register them, but paced at such a duration and interval that they exert a powerful influence on your subconscious. The messages run automatically in the background while you work in any other Windows application.

The software repeatedly cycles through each file you choose, displaying one message at a time. Sometimes you'll notice a quick flash on the screen. At first, this was distracting to me, but now I seldom notice, though if I have a lot of programs running and my computer's resources are strapped, the messages begin to pile up on the screen. (The messages disappear again as soon as more memory becomes available).

The affirmations come from Dr. Teri Mahaney, author of the Change Your Mind book, tapes, and seminars. And the software comes with hundreds of these affirmations in a variety of categories, ranging from the standard self-help fare (losing weight, quitting smoking, creating wealth) to the specific (faster reading, creative thinking, handling criticism).

Or you can create your own affirmations with the software's built-in editor. (You'll be instructed on how to write them for maximum impact.) You can also adjust the message interval, duration, and where the messages appear on your screen.

The software gives you the option of musical accompaniment, as well. You can use any MIDI music files or listen to the Baroque music accompaniment that comes bundled with the software. (Studies show that Baroque music with a tempo of 60 to 80 beats per minute creates a better bridge to the subconscious by increasing alpha brain waves.)

Does it work? After downloading this software online, I noticed some very real and specific changes in my behavior almost immediately. I started with the healthy eating affirmations and my 3:30 pm carb cravings all but disappeared. After working with the Creative Thinking affirmations, I've noticed a significant writing block disappear, and I've experienced similar success with other categories.

Download and setup is easy. The software starts automatically with Windows, so I don't have to do anything at all, besides choose new categories once every two weeks. (The software's creators recommend you limit yourself to 2 to 3 categories at any one time.)
